Based on the award-winning DreamWorks animated film, Shrek The Musical was seen live on stage by nearly a million people during its run at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London’s West End. This family favourite musical has played across the globe since Shrek The Musical opened on Broadway in 2008, and will make its Welsh premiere at the Centre for the 2015 festive season.

Shrek, the unlikely hero and his loyal steed Donkey embark on a quest to rescue the beautiful (if slightly temperamental) Princess Fiona from a fire breathing, love-sick dragon. Add the diminutive Lord Farquaad, a gang of fairy-tale misfits, and a biscuit with attitude, and you’ve got a musical comedy like no other.

Featuring all new songs as well as the cult Shrek anthem ‘I’m a Believer’, Shrek The Musical brings all the much-loved DreamWorks characters to life, live on stage, in an all-singing, all-dancing extravaganza.

Shrek the Musical comes to Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff as part of an acclaimed UK and Ireland Tour. Tickets for Shrek The Musical will go on public sale on Tuesday 14 October 2014, with a priority booking period available to Wales Millennium Centre’s Promise members from Friday 3 October 2014 and Group bookers from Tuesday 7 October 2014.
